About us
The JSS Advanced Jewellery Design Technology Centre, situated at the JSS ATE Campus, Bengaluru, was set up by JSSMVP in the year 2004, jointly with the Government of Karnataka under the Central Government’s ASIDE Scheme. The institute is the first of its kind in Southern India, imparting training in Jewellery Designing and Manufacturing to goldsmiths, artisans, and the trading community in the gems and jewellery sector.
Objective of the Centre
The main objective is to develop the Centre as a knowledge base and resource hub for the jewellery manufacturing industry — to provide the latest developments in the field of jewellery designing and manufacturing. It also aims to build a library of jewellery designs to assist exporters, support customisation of software, and offer consultancy services regarding various production techniques such as Laser Technology, Electroforming, and Rapid Prototyping.
The Centre has also established a Rapid Prototyping Facility, which helps the jewellery industry convert new designs into production within a short time and at nominal charges. In addition, an Incubation Centre has been set up for new entrepreneurs, enabling them to start their businesses with minimal investment and operate until they establish a regular production unit.
Our Vision
To be a centre of excellence in jewellery design and manufacturing education, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, and fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship in the gems and jewellery industry.
Our Mission
To empower individuals with advanced skills in jewellery design and production, promoting innovation, craftsmanship, and self-reliance through quality education and training.
Facilities at the Centre
The Centre has ample space, ideally located and easily accessible from Bengaluru City Railway Station and the City Central Bus Stand. It is well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to train candidates in various areas of jewellery designing and manufacturing.
