1. Students of JSSAJDTC undergoing training in CAD and Integrated jewellery Designing and Manufacturing - Oct 2017

The students of JSSAJDTC undergoing training in CAD and Integrated jewellery Designing and Manufacturing were engaged in practical training of detecting purity of Gold and Silver using Touch Stone and acid method. They were also taught how to calculate the purity, percentage and fineness of Gold and its conversion from karatage to percentage to determine the market value of the ornament.

 

2. JSS AJDTC Campus visited by Dr C.G.Betsurmath KAS (Retd), Executive Secretary, JSSMVP, Mysuru - 25th Sep 2017

Dr C.G.Betsurmath KAS (Retd), the Executive Secretary, JSSMVP, Mysuru, visited JSS-AJDTC, Bengaluru on 25.09.2017 and inspected the existing infrastructure for conducting various training courses in jewellery designing and manufacturing. He expressed his satisfaction over the progress made since its inception in the year 2006 and discussed with Sri Dr.C.Ranganathaiah, Director (A&A), Sri B.R. Umakanth, Additional Director (Retd), Joint Director (Projects) and Sri D.P.Manjuntha IRS (Retd), Chief Executive JSSAJDTC, about future developmental programs to be initiated to make this institute a model institute in Gem & Jewellery sector.

 

3. Teacher's Day Greetings by Students of Gemology To Sri D.P.Manjunatha IRS Retd, Chief Executive JSS AJDTC - 05th Sep 2017

Teachers Day Greeting - JSS AJDTC

This is a greeting made by the current students of JSSAJDTC, Bengaluru undergoing training in Gemmology on 05 Sep 2017 on the eve of Teacher's Day based on the methodology adopted by Sri D.P.Manjunatha IRS Retd and now working as Chief Executive for teaching Gemmology subject. He followed a unique method by distributing the different books to the students and discussing the contents author wise and making the students understand and draw conclusions.

 

4. JSS AJDTC participated in International Women’s Day event organised by BBMP - 08th Mar 2017

JSS AJDTC students and faculty participated in International Women’s Day organised by Bruhath Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) on 08th Mar 2017 at their office and exhibited jewellery items manufactured by them. Public and youngsters evinced interest in the process of manufacturing of jewellery. We also promoted NSDC/PMKVY program.

 

5. Gemmology course conducted by JSS AJDTC - March 2017

JSS AJDTC has been awarded, with job roles for the training of Goldsmiths/Silversmiths and other aspiring candidates seeking jobs in Gems and Jewellery Sector by GJSCI, Mumbai. Subsequently, Quality Council of India, an autonomous organization of Dept. of Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Industries and Commerce, GOI, carried out an inspection of availability of existing infrastructure under the guidance of NSDC/GJSCI on 07th Nov 2016 for conducting these job roles under PMKVY Star II program.

 

6. Event by Akila Karnataka Gold and Silver Workers Federation(R) at Central College Senate Hall, Bangalore University - 21st Feb 2017

Sri D P Manjunatha and faculty of JSSAJDTC attended the meeting conducted by Akila Karnataka Gold and Silver Workers Federation(R) ,Bengaluru on 21st Feb 2017 at the Senate Hall, Central College, Bengaluru University and he spoke on Prime Minister Kaushalya Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) sponsored by National Skill Development Corporation, GOI to promote Skill Development Scheme and briefed about Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL) and 2 job Roles assigned to JSSAJDTC namely Hand Sketch Designing and Jewellery Retail Sales Associate (JRSA). There was a good response from the audience. The participants were requested to produce Aadhar card, ID and bank details. Mobile numbers were also collected for future correspondence.

 

7. Sri D.P.Manjunatha spoke at event organised to celebrate birthday of god Vishwakarma, event organised by Sri Vishwakarma Seva Samithi (R) - 09 Feb 2017

Sri Vishwakarma Seva Samithi (R) Bangalore celebrated the birthday of god Vishwakarma on 09th Feb 2017. The function was attended by Sri Dinesh Gundurao, working President and Sri H.M.Revanna, Ex Minister, Congress, spoke on the occasion. Sri Madhusudan, President, and other office bearers presented a memorandum to the Govt of Karnataka, about problems faced by Gold and Silversmiths. Sri Muralidhar Halappa, IAS, Commissioner KVTSDC spoke about Skill Development in Karnataka, Smt. Sathyavathi, Chairman, Karnataka Viswakarma Community Development Corporation, was also present.

Sri D.P.Manjunatha, IRS Retd, and now the Chief Executive of JSSAJDTC, Bengaluru, explained in detail the necessity of obtaining certificate issued by the GJSCI/NSDC under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and other various skill development programme conducted by NSDC, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship GOI and JSS AJDTC is currently has been approved as TP for training in Hand Sketch and JRSA job roles.

 

8. Inspection of infrastructure by QCI under the guidance of NSDC/GJSCI under PMKVY Star II program - 07th Nov 2016

9. Workshop on “Foundry Technology Pertaining to Jewellery Manufacture” - 05th Oct 2016

JSS AJDTC conducted one day workshop on “Foundry Technology Pertaining to Jewellery Manufacture” on 05th Oct 2016 at Sai Ram Engineering College, Anekal near Bengaluru. The students of Engineering college were exposed to various methods of casting namely clay or mud casting, vacuum investment casting etc, used in making Gold jewellery components.

 

10. Visit to Jewels of India exhibition, Bengaluru on - 24th Oct 2016

Students and faculty members of JSSAJDTC were taken to Jewels of India exhibition conducted by Jewellery Association Bengaluru on 24.10.2016 held at St.Joseph High School Grounds, Bengaluru.

 

11. JSS AJDTC's Students and faculty members visit "Jewellery D’sire exhibition" on, - 28th Sep 2016

Students and faculty members of JSSAJDTC visited Jewellery D’sire exhibition on 28.09.2016 to promote awareness among its students about various designer's jewellery showcased by different Traders from various part of the country in the exhibition held at Lalit Ashok Hotel, Bengaluru.

 

12. Workshop for students of Dept. of Chemistry (2nd Sem), JSSATE, Bangalore - 25th Apr 2016 to 28th Apr 2016

Workshop for 200 students of Department of Chemistry (2nd Sem), JSSATE, Bangalore from 25.04.2016 to 28.04.2016 on Surface Finishing, Treatment of metals, Buffing and Polishing, Ultra Sonic Cleaning and Electroplating (24 Karat Gold).

 

13. One day workshop at M/s Venkateshwara Jewellers was conducted on 2nd Feb 2016.

Students of JSSAJDTC were taken to M/s Venkateshwara Jewellers, RT Street, Bangalore on 02.02.2016 for gaining practical knowledge of melting, refining of Gold, designing, marking and engraving of designs over Gold sheet, Gem setting, Diamond setting, buffing, polishing and plating
